Today i traveled a total of around 200 km and frankly speaking i am completely shocked to see the number of children that are working in different areas of our so called 'SHINING INDIA' and adding a few bucks to our GDP(they are contributing dudes, just think a bit ).Many of you might get shocked by the term 'few bucks' i have used cos they are contributing significantly to our Indian economy with their sweet little hands and rock hard courage .I have not used this term to insult the amount of hard work these young souls are doing instead i used this term to show you the meager value these 'few bucks' hold in comparison to what they are losing and that is 'CHILDHOOD'.We all miss our childhood memories,we all have learnt a lot from those days, those are the days that made us what we are today, those are the days we got scolded by our parents so that they can impart right traits in us,those are the days that gave us the base for our personality to stand on it.Just imagine, what would have happened if you were made to work in some unhygienic place instead of playing football, what would have happened if you were to beg on streets instead of playing games on your computer-if you are born in India and that too in a middle class or rich family than i assure you one thing ,that god loves you a lot , reason being that according to UNICEF India have the highest number of child labourers in the world. Yup,you heard it right-who we think of as a deserving nation to become next superpower doesn't even have the power to save it's own little citizens from child labour . We ,as typical indians , do everything to SHOW OFF in front of others and to show us as modern and a 4G generation but we do nothing to stop these little children from facing exploitation right after just 4-5 years of their birth. Many of you might argue that it's not our mistake, what we can do!!,this is govt. work!!!,we have our own lives to look at and bla bla bla !!!!
But i can prove that directly or indirectly it seems as your mistake.Let's see-how?
Our constituent assembly wrote in constitution that within 10 years of implementation of our constitution, our govt. should make necessary arrangements so that every child below 14 years gets education free of cost----------->that didn't happened------>reason- our leaders who never had the time to think about country because they are too busy blaming others and filling their pockets----->who chose them???----you ( i won :) )
A piece of advice from an Indian teenager who is going to vote for the first time in the coming election is, don't think that if a leader is from your caste and he is asking for votes on that basis than he is going to do anything good for you.
So choose your leaders wisely so that they can do something for these little brave chaps.Till then keep on doing anything that you can do for them because they literally give you true blessings from their heart when you do even a small thing for them.
now let us look at some of the acts passed by out legislation to act on this huge problem. These are-
The Factories Act of 1948: The Act prohibits the employment of children below the age of 14 years in any factory. The law also placed rules on who, when and how long can pre-adults aged 15–18 years be employed in any factory.
The Mines Act of 1952: The Act prohibits the employment of children below 18 years of age in a mine factory.

The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act of 1986: The Act prohibits the employment of children below the age of 14 years in hazardous occupations identified in a list by the law. The list was expanded in 2006, and again in 2008.
The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) of Children Act of 2000: This law made it a crime, punishable with a prison term, for anyone to procure or employ a child in any hazardous employment or in bondage.
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act of 2009: The law mandates free and compulsory education to all children aged 6 to 14 years. This legislation also mandated that 25 percent of seats in every private school must be allocated for children from disadvantaged groups and physically challenged children. (only about 52 years late in bringing this-->we are too efficient :p )
---the end----
I BELIEVE IN GOD
